Nebraska Extension is hosting West Central Cattleman’s Day Tuesday, February 13 from 10:30 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at the Kearney County Fairgrounds in Minden. Check-in will begin at 10:00 a.m.
The program will feature a number of discussions led by Extension specialists and educators designed to help cattle producers improve their bottom line. Erin Laborie from Nebraska Extension will cover implant strategies while Brad Schick from Nebraska Extension discusses cull cows. Discussion of the link between cover crops, cattle, and cash will be led by Dr. Mary Drewnoski from University of Nebraska-Lincoln. Troy Walz from Nebraska Extension will discuss lameness in beef cattle and Doug Straight from Nebraska Beef Council will provide a Nebraska Beef Checkoff update.
