Cederburg Hired As City Clerk/Treasurer
The Minden City Council moved its regular meeting to Tuesday, June 7 and breezed through its abbreviated agenda.
Mayor Roger Jones appointed Matt Cederburg of Omaha to be the new City of Minden City Clerk/Treasurer. Cederburg will begin in his new position June 13. The council approved the hire and voted unanimously in favor.
Cederburg is a Minden High School graduate and his parents are Sharon Cederburg and the late Gary Cederburg.
“I feel confident that I can keep things running smoothly,” said Cederburg, “and with my prior experience I hope to keep the City Council updated with the financial status of every department. Communication is key, and right now, my primary goal is to get caught up to speed and get reacclimated with government accounting so that the City of Minden can be financially secure.”
Thanks to the former City Clerk Dick Young, city finances have kept running smoothly since the time the position was vacated late January 2011. One challenge facing Cederburg will be to financially secure Minden for various projects and goals in the future. He is confident that he will quickly familiarize himself with government accounting.
