Cinderella Cast Prepares For Opening Night

The Minden Community Players are hard at work rehearsing for the March 17 opening of Rodgers and Hammerstein’s Cinderella at the Minden Opera House.
The 1957 musical was originally broadcast live on CBS on March 31, 1957 and is the only Rodgers and Hammerstein musical written for television.  The broadcast was seen by over 100 million people and was remade for television twice, in 1965 and 1997.
The Minden Community Players production will run on Thursdays and Fridays, March 17,18,24,25,31 and April 1 with matinee shows on Saturdays and Sundays, March 19, 20, 26, 27 and April 2 and 3.
A special Princess Tea with Cinderella will be held at 1:00 p.m. before every Saturday performance. Admission to the tea is free with a paid ticket.
Starring in the Community Players production will be Sadie Jons as Cinderella and Adam Keller as the Prince. Jeanne Jons, Sadie’s real-life mother, will play the cruel stepmother and Claire Runions and Tessa Vyvlecka were cast as the self-centered stepsisters Joy and Portia.
Other cast members include: King-Frank Kovac, Queen-Donna Davidson, Chef-Tim Beck, Steward-Allen Hammer, Heralder-Jr. Plasencio, Fairy Godmother-Karen Barnes, Page-Emma Jons, and Townspeople- Sharon Adkin, Gavin Arneson, Lynda Ayreo, Madisyn Ayres, Ashley Chasek, Kaelyse Clapper, Lisa Clapper, Jamie Crosby, Phil Fahrlander, Jaci Heineman, Jadyn Horner, Kaylee Isacc, Doug Keller, Carolyn Nichol, Lori Sirek, Lily Steen, Max Stratman, Courtney Thompson and Leta Vahl.
