The first Minden City Council meeting of 2019 was held January 7. SCEDD Community Consultant Lori Ferguson attended the meeting to answer any questions the council had as they considered agreements with South Central Economic Development District.
First was a contract in the amount of $5,000 for grant administration services for CDBG 18-ED-004, a grant to benefit Royal Engineered Composites. The City is the grantee for the Community Development Block Grant. A Certified Administrator must be named to take charge of the project.
Ferguson informed the council the grant administration fees are paid entirely by the grant. She also updated them on the status of the grant. The application has been signed by both the City and State and there has been a release of funds. The Royal Engineered Composites expansion funded by the grant will create 20 jobs at the facility. The council approved the contract with SCEDD for grant administration services.
