The Minden City Council met May 1 with a full agenda. Jason Van Nastram from CPI was in attendance to explain an application for bulk storage of flammable liquids at their N. Brown Avenue location.
In order to fill small propane containers for customers at this time, CPI workers are travelling to Juniata and back. Van Nastram explained that a bulk storage unit in Minden would help CPI better serve their customers in the area.
Some concerns were voiced about the proposed location of the storage unit. Council member Teresa Sumstine worried that without a survey done, proper setbacks for the structure couldn’t be confirmed. Utilities Superintendent Ryan Hurst also mentioned there may be a water main running through that location. The matter was tabled until further information is obtained.
