City Council Transfers Development Agreement With CN Minden to Foundry

The Minden City Council held a special meeting on January 11. The agenda included consideration of the purchase of a fire truck and written consent to transfer the development agreement with CN Minden LLC to Foundry DM LLC.

The council was reminded the fire department’s 1999 grass rig was surplussed to Upland in December. Minden Fire Chief Tom Brown stated the new truck will be used to fill the needs of the department for rural fires as well as backup for in town. This purchase was budgeted and the cost of the proposed used truck is under budget. The council approved the purchase of a 2015 Pierce Pumper for $139,500 and payment of $139,500 to Brindlee Mountain Fire Apparatus.

Attorney David Bracht, counsel to Compute North began the discussion of transferring the development agreement with CN Minden to Foundry DM. He started with the history of the project explaining the Compute North data processing center in Kearney was so successful the company looked to expand with a center north of Minden.
