City Looks At Developing Master Plan To Deal With Parks, Swimming Pool

The Minden City Council held its first meeting for the month on July 6 in the council chambers with all five council members present.
The council wanted to take a serious look at all the park facilities in Minden and come up with a master plan for the Parks as well as a municipal swimming pool facility evaluation.
Eric Hellriegel from Miller and Associates was in attendance at the meeting to give a presentation to the council.
Hellriegel stated the process would begin with looking at all the existing parks in Minden and give an evaluation on each. We want input from the public on the park situation with some type of community workshop and then from the responses from the community move forward with recommended phases and completion as well as a graphic overview and summary.
Hellriegel said they will look at the condition, age, accessibility to all the parks as well as determine what the community’s wants and needs are from the public input they receive.
