City Plans To Have Balanced Budget

The Minden City Council met on Sept. 4 after moving its meeting from Monday to Tuesday because of the Labor Day holiday.
The council had a busy agenda with the meeting lasting nearly three hours.
The citizens of Minden should take notice of what City Administrator Matt Cederburg and the city employees have done for the 2012-13 fiscal budget. Cederburg asked each department head to shave five to nine percent off each of their budgets from the prior year, putting Minden on track for a balanced budget.
What Cederburg showed the council in the meeting was a revised version of an earlier budget they talked through at an earlier budget workshop.
