Clinic Remodel Discussion Dominates Trustees Meeting

The Kearney County Health Services Board of Trustees spoke with their architect, Robert Junk, via phone during the June 3 meeting. Junk provided an update on the clinic remodel project.

Smoke walls between the clinic and hospital need repaired to meet code. Due to a higher than anticipated proposal for the work, contractors are being paid based on time and materials up to $15,400.

There is a significant height variation in floors between the clinic and hospital space where connections will be made. In order to have a smooth transition, one treatment room will need to be floated. Junk reported construction contingency following these changes would be exhausted, however the overall project still remains under budget at this time.
