Construction updates of the clinic remodel dominated the February 19 meeting of the Kearney County Health Services Board of Trustees. An upgrade in drywall finish of the new walls was suggested to the board.
The project was quoted with a level 4 finish for the walls which works well with an eggshell finish paint. The paint selected to be used is a semi-gloss which is more durable, but also makes any flaws in the drywall more noticeable.
A level 5 drywall finish would add a skim coat to all new walls which should smooth out flaws. This is the route suggested by Beckenhauer if KCHS chooses to use a semi-gloss paint. The upgrade will cost $9,000.
