A plea for the public to wear masks was the common theme from community leaders during the November 24 conference call to discuss COVID-19 related topics in the community. Two Rivers Public Health Department started the meeting with a brief overview of the numbers in the district and the county.
Kearney County reported 199 new cases since November 1. The Minden TestNebraska site administered 66 tests the week before the meeting with a 24.7 percent positivity rate.
With the upcoming holidays, TRPHD reminded the public to avoid the three C’s: Crowds, Confined spaces, and Close contact. They also noted that Kearney recently approved a city wide mask mandate, along with Grand Island and Hastings considering.
