Efforts to resolve nuisance properties in Minden continued during the first Minden City Council meeting of the year. Status updates and further action on condemnation of properties throughout the community dominated the January 6 agenda.
Mayor Ted Griess began the meeting by crediting City Clerk Abbey Jordan with the progress made with the condemned properties in town. Her organization of information regarding each property has kept momentum going to resolve the issues.
The council is waiting on a court ordered temporary injunction to expire to move forward with a condemnation order for the property located at 531 E. 4th Street. The 90 day injunction will expire after March 20 and a call for action regarding the condemnation will be scheduled at the following regular City Council meeting. In the meantime, the council was asked to watch for any improvements to the property.
