Connor Carpenter of Minden Boy Scout Troop 199 received the Eagle Scout Award during a ceremony in August. Using the skills he acquired during his years in Boy Scouts, Carpenter led his troop in restoring a trail at Rowe Sanctuary.
“I did my project out at Rowe Sanctuary. I restored a two and a half mile trail that had become overgrown,” Connor said. “They wanted it back up and running so visitors could use it again to explore more.”
When Connor began thinking about what to do for his Eagle project, he turned his attention to the wildlife preserve that had provided fond memories in his childhood.
