The City of Minden held a public meeting on August 31 to announce the results of the parks and pool survey that was given to the public in July. City employees attending the meeting were joined by nearly 50 members of the community.
The survey composed by Miller and Associates identified the top three outdoor activities enjoyed by the public this year were walking, swimming, and using playground equipment. A strong need for walking/biking trails, a splash pad, and public restrooms was indicated by residents.
Emphasis for the meeting was on the public pool. 91% of the surveyed residents have used the swimming pool with a majority claiming they would use a new or renovated pool either daily or weekly. The study also found that a little more than half of the residents want a new pool to be built rather than fixing the current one.
