Council Approves Bidding For DTR Infrastructure Project

The Minden City Council met December 17 for their last regular meeting of the year. Advancement on the infrastructure portion of the Downtown Revitalization project was first on the agenda. Lucas Dutcher from Miller & Associates was present to answer questions.
The infrastructure project will replace the sidewalk on the west side of the square including ADA ramps in front of businesses and ADA corner ramps on all four corners of the square. The DTR Steering Committee met December 11 to finalize the design for the project to be let for bids.
The committee changed the ramp design from two ramps going down either side to a single ramp in front of each business. The ramps will have a railing along the ramp and the side of the landing. There will be no railing in front to allow for large items to be carried into businesses.
