After a long meeting at the beginning of the month, the April 20 meeting of the Minden City Council was quite short in comparison. Mayor Ted Griess thanked residents for following directed health measures in an effort to slow the spread of COVID-19. He also noted the downtown Christmas lights are coming down.
Police Chief Bradley Butler spoke to the council about a memorandum of understanding with the Central Region Human Trafficking Response Team that was under consideration. Under the MOU, Minden police officers would be trained and be made available if called on by the Nebraska Human Trafficking Task Force.
Butler assured the council there is no cost to the City and it will not interfere with local police work. The MOU pools resources from agencies throughout Central Nebraska to assist in the mission to end human trafficking in Nebraska. The memorandum of understanding with the Central Region Human Trafficking Response Team was approved.
