The Minden City council heard an update on the Minden West Estates II final plat, pond analysis, and Industrial Drive project during the April 18 regular meeting. Jeff Palik from Olsson Associates presented the update.
A meeting to discuss full details with the Minden CRA was held the previously that day with the biggest point of discussion being the pond. Although there are several options, the pond was designed to be a 13 foot deep wet pond with the ability to house fish and surrounded by rock.
The main function of the pond is to provide storm water retention. Palik explained the pond will have the same water retention capabilities as a wet or dry pond. The proposed design requires 26,000 cubic yards of material to be removed. Some of that material will be utilized to create proper elevations for the subdivision development.
