Council Approves One & Six Year Street Plan

A public hearing for the City’s One and Six Year Street Plan was opened during the February 22 Minden City Council meeting. Jeff Palik from Olsson Associates presented an overview of the plan.

The One Year Plan includes five projects. The paving of Industrial Drive from 31 Road to Sears Street has been on the street plan for several years and is currently in the design phase. New construction of concrete curb and gutter streets for Minden West Estates II has been added to the One Year Plan with platting of the streets currently in progress.

Two projects have been included to address drainage concerns on Park Street, Hillcrest Drive, and Minden Avenue. The only project on the One Year Plan not currently in the design phase is paving of Colorado Avenue between Lexington and Brewster. That project was included as a placeholder in the event the City receives good paving prices on its other projects.
