Council Approves Plan For Paving Minden West And 5th Street

The Minden Council approved plans for the paving of Minden West Estates and a portion of 5th St. at their meeting on Monday, August 6.
Ryan Kevon of Miller and Associates presented the plans to the council which will pave Willow St. at Sycamore St., Evergreen to the end of the property, Aspen from W. 1st St. to Evergreen and Birch to the end of the property.
Upon completion of the Minden West Estates project, 5th St. will be paved from Brown Ave. east to Colorado Ave. It will be paved at the current dimensions, with new curbs and gutters included.
John Beck asked if the current water lines under 5th St. would be examined or repaired while the street was opened up, but Council Member Mike Kleen said there would be no new construction.
“Obviously this is not going to transpire in the next month,” Council Member Ted Griess said, “But hopefully it will happen in the near future.”
