Council Approves Restroom Bid For Chautauqua Park

The April 6 regular meeting of the Minden City Council was held on Zoom. Mayor Ted Griess started the meeting with a salute to the Minden Volunteer Fire Department for their work putting out a house fire early that morning and putting themselves in harms way.

Morton Buildings submitted the only bid for the restroom building project at Chautauqua Park. After addressing concerns about the doors swinging outward, approval of the bid was put to a vote. Councilman Larry Evans voted no based on state statute 17-606, Teresa Sumstine, Bob Carlson, and Roger Jones voted yes. The bid from Morton Buildings for the Chautauqua Park restroom building for $92,757 was approved.

An NPPD project for approximately $40,429 will remove two existing transformers and install new poles and one new transformer for the high school track area. Minden Public Schools Superintendent Jim Widdifield explained the project to the council.
