Council Considers Proposals For Water Tower Work
The Minden City Council continued the discussion on how best to address the “red water” issue in Minden at their regular meeting on July 15. While no final decision on a course of action for financing the four phase plan was made, the Council did hear more information on the project’s proposed timeline and financing options, along with two proposals for the water tower repairs and maintenance.
City Administrator Matt Cederburg provided a proposed timeline to the council on the project to fix problems in the city’s water infrastructure. Phase I of the project involves GIS (Geographic Information System) mapping the city’s water and sewer mains. That phase of the project is estimated to cost $45,000 and a grant for $10,000 has already been submitted for the mapping. Cederburg said that this phase could begin immediately but still has to be formally approved by the council and included in the upcoming budgeting process.
