Council Held Special Meeting

The Minden City Council gathered at 6:00 p.m. on December 20, 2012, in the city chambers for a special session.

The first order of business was to consider the approval of the proposed Nelson addition to the city of Minden, by recommendation of the Planning and Zoning Commission.

The request was to have Dave Nelson’s 1.5 acre subdivision, located along Highway 74, annexed into Minden and rezoned to residential from agriculture.

The council discussed the surrounding property areas, possible through street limitations, and drainage as possible issues.

The motion to annex the subdivision passed unanimously.

In the second order of business, the council considered the approval of the resolution in the Personnel Policy regarding the change to the city and employee portion of premiums paid on all regular, full-time employees and qualified regular, part-time employees.

After reading the proposed resolution, council member Thompson motioned to accept the resolution, and he was seconded by Sumstine.
