The Minden City Council returned to council chambers for the July 6 regular meeting. Council meetings had been held virtually or in the Fire Hall since March 2020.
Nick Yaksich from Premier Claims spoke to the council as they considered a contract for a public adjuster involving claims from the May 2, 2021 hail storm. The City sustained damage to several properties during the hail storm which have been turned into Travelers, the City’s insurance provider. The current claim documents list no claim on three City buildings including City Hall. Although the City Hall roof shows no visible signs of damage from the storm, an engineer hired by Travelers recently came to inspect damage to the sub-roof at the request of City Administrator Matt Cederburg. That report was not yet received by the City’s insurance agent, Kevin Krull, at the time of the meeting.
