Council Revisits Proposed Ordinances

The Minden City Council revisited proposed ordinances affecting the City Code during the October 18 regular meeting. Ordinance 1261 adding Sections 1-23, Complaints and 1-24, Agenda Item Requests to the Minden Municipal Code was up for consideration first.

The ordinance was presented to the council with the removal of some language based on recommendations from Jack Yant during the October 4 council meeting. The purpose of the ordinance is to create a complaints section for Chapter 1 – General Provisions covering all complaints related to City codes. Yant made a motion to approve Ordinance 1261. The motion was seconded by Bob Carlson and put to a vote. Yant and Carlson voted in favor, Teresa Sumstine and Larry Evans voted opposed, Mayor Ted Griess broke the tie with an affirmative vote and the motion passed.
