The Minden City Council began the new year with a short meeting January 2. City Administrator Matt Cederburg, City Attorney Tom Lieske, and Councilman Larry Evans were absent from the meeting.
Mayor Ted Griess began the meeting by wishing all present a happy new year and noting the courthouse lights would be off until next year so he hoped everyone got their fill of the spectacle until they are lit again. He announced the next meeting of the Minden City Council would be held on Tuesday, January 16 due to a conflict with Martin Luther King Jr. Day.
Moving on to the consent agenda, the council approved the minutes from the December 22 meeting and bills and claims. The excused absence of Cederburg, Lieske, and Evans was also accepted.
