County To Change Internet Provider

The Kearney County Board of Supervisors once again discussed contracting with USA Communications for telephone and internet services at their May 3 meeting. Supervisor Bob Swanson was absent as Becky Lynch from USA Communications once again talked to the board.
After looking into the matter, it was determined that phone service at the Veteran Services building is currently through the same service as the courthouse, but internet service was separate. Lynch had already included phone service to the annex in the proposal.
Highway Superintendent Randy Smith had also spoken with Lynch about service to the Roads Department. He told the board the overall bill for both services will be slightly higher than what they pay now because current internet access is free. The difference will be easy enough fit into his budget however and he would like to switch because internet is spotty right now.
