A retirement celebration was held for three County retirees following the swearing in of County Officials. Roy John Nelson served on the Kearney County Board of Supervisors for 10 years. Barb Lynn served as County Treasurer for 36 years. Linda Larsen served as County Assessor for 38 years. County Board Chairman Richard Schwenka presented each retiree with a gift from the County as a token of their appreciation for the many years of service.

The Minden City Council approved two contracts with SCEDD for matters relating to a Community Development Block Grant to benefit Royal Engineered Composites. Improvements from the grant will create at least 20 new jobs at the company.
