Kearney County Health Services, in cooperation with Two Rivers Public Health Department, is now offering COVID-19 vaccinations to the general population age 16 and over.
COVID-19 vaccination distribution began in December 2020 with health care personnel and residents of long term facilities. As the majority of those populations received their shots, vaccinations were opened to more members of the public by phases determined by the state.
According to a March 17 vaccination update from TRPHD, over half of the residents of Buffalo, Kearney, and Dawson counties over the age of 65 have been fully vaccinated. The report also sited over 18% of the district’s eligible population has been fully vaccinated, 20% higher than the statewide average. Over 30% of eligible residents of the district have received at least the first dose of the vaccine.
