“Crush It For Cancer” Night Is October 18
Last year the Minden volleyball team hosted an event called “Crush it for Cancer.” They raised over $2,600 last year for Kearney County Health Services. This year they have decided to try something slightly different.
On Tuesday, Oct. 18, the Minden volleyball team will be hosting a “Crush It for Cancer” night during their matches with Adams Central with the freshman match beginning at 5 p.m. Junior varsity and varsity matches will follow at 6 and 7 p.m. respectively. All proceeds from this evening will go to three worthy organizations: Health Connect at Home – Good Samaritan Hospice, Kearney County Health Services and Kearney County Relay for Life. Our goal this year is to raise $3,500.
Health Connect at Home – Good Samaritan Hospice provides physical, emotional, and spiritual support for terminally ill patients in several counties including Kearney County. The Kearney County Relay for Life raises money for the American Cancer Society to help communities fight for every birthday threatened by every cancer. The American Cancer Society funds research, education, and patient services such as transportation, The Guestroom Program, and The Look Good Feel Good Program. Kearney County Health Services offers medical care to residents of Kearney County. Money raised will fund awareness and education for the detection and prevention of cancer.
