Dawgs Crush Cougars
Minden’s first road game of the season went decisively in the Whippets’ favor in a 57-19 conquest of Sandy Creek on September 20 at the Cougars rural facility near Fairfield. Minden moves to 2-1 and travels to 2-1 Gothenburg on Friday.
While the Dawg defense was recording a first half shutout, the Whippet offense was led by “Ground Rutt/Air Lovin” as the senior duo of Quin Rutt and Jonas Lovin had a hand in all six of the TD’s produced before halftime.
Rutt had touchdown runs of seven and ten yards and Bryson Holsten hauled in a 43-yard scoring strike from Lovin in the opening quarter. Alexis Ciprian’s conversion kicks were successful each time and the Whippets led 21-0 after one period.
