DeLaet Carries Minden To 42-14 Victory Over Cougars

The injury bug has struck the Minden Whippet football team during the past week but the Dawgs were able to plug in players and win in a rout over Sandy Creek on Friday in district action.
The Whippets improved to 2-0 in district play and 4-1 overall after handing the Cougars a 42-14 defeat in Fairfield. Minden will get the Gibbon Buffaloes (4-1) at home on Friday at Kuper Field starting at 7 p.m.
“We were able to plug some players in for our injuries and make some big plays to win our second district game,” stated Minden head coach Sam Dunn. “We are being hit hard by the injury bug. We didn’t play as well as I would have liked for us to play, missed some assignments on offense and some missed tackles on defense, but were able to win the game 42-14.”
