The Wilcox-Hildreth boys had not played since December 18. They would have met Kenesaw in the Kenesaw Holiday Tournament on December 28 but the event was postponed one day and then ultimately cancelled. So the two did meet up in Kenesaw on January 4 and the Blue Devils overcame an early lead by the Falcons and went on to get an easier-than-expected 59-43 win over W-H in a contest pairing two state-ranked D-1 squads. The Falcons dropped their second in a row after a 7-0 start.
W-H had a 5-3 lead in the opening minutes but Kenesaw finished the quarter on an 11-0 run to lead 14-5 at the end of the first period. The Blue Devils then extended the margin at halftime to 31-16 with a second quarter advantage of 17-11.
