Wilcox-Hildreth played Kenesaw much closer than the teams’ first meeting a couple weeks ago, but the Blue Devils used a fourth quarter surge to down the Falcons 52-40 at Wilcox on January 10. W-H, which was defeated by 26 in the previous meeting, fell to 2-9.
Kenesaw had identical 13-11 scoring edges in the first and second quarters to lead at halftime 26-22. Skye Knaus and Jacob Wendell each had seven first half points and Trey Wenburg added six.
Twice in the third period the Falcons had a lead, 31-30 at 4:26 on free throws from Jayden Bauer, and 34-32 at 3:30 on a Gavin Sheen trey. Bauer scored seven in the quarter and W-H edged Kenesaw 14-12 but after three the Blue Devils held a slim 38-36 lead.
