DLR Presents Plans For Pre K-12 Facility

Pat Phelan of DLR Group presented the Facility Committee recommendation for the Minden Public Schools’ potential renovation project.
The option chosen by the committee for recommendation was Option 3-B of the five plans presented to them. 3-B begins with construction of a new high school on the west side of C.L. Jones.
When the high school is completed, the current high school would be demolished and a new elementary school would be built in its place on the east side of C.L. Jones, with both Park Ave. and Gilman Ave. being closed in the process.
The complete plan was budgeted for $30,570,465, including a 6.5 percent contingency fund, as well as construction of a new competition gymnasium and 500-seat fine arts auditorium.
