Drainage Change Orders Top City Council Agenda

Mayor Ted Griess began the September 3 regular meeting of the Minden City Council by expressing his gratitude to Minden’s citizens for their continued patience through the street and sidewalk projects taking place around town. Getting to business, the council had three agenda items relating to the projects.

First was consideration of change order #3 for the Minden Paving, Drainage, and Water Improvements project. The change order would add two curb inlets on the north side of Eighth Street and Hubbard Avenue and piping to merge with the existing storm drainage.

City Administrator Matt Cederburg told the council this plan is a better long term solution for drainage than to let the water flow over the street to reach a drainage point. After further explanation of where the inlets would be situated and how drainage would be affected, the council voted to approve change order #3 for the Minden Paving, Drainage, and & Water Improvements of $11,872 for storm water inlets at Eighth Street and Hubbard Avenue.
