Drip Subsurface Irrigation Opens First Nebraska Location In Minden

Diversified Subsurface Irrigation (DSI) has come to Minden after 18 years in the drip-irrigation business operating exclusively out of Texas at locations in Lubbock and Littlefield.
Subsurface irrigation is a method of irrigation entirely underground where there is no evaporation, and with the proper application of drip-tape, an entire garden or field can receive balanced water distribution.
In the United States, in the early 1960s, the first drip tape, called Dew Hose, was developed by Richard Chapin of Chapin Watermatics (first system established during 1964). Beginning in 1989, Jain irrigation helped pioneer effective water-management through drip irrigation in India.
Modern drip irrigation has become one of the world’s most valued innovations in agriculture, which offered the first practical alternative to surface irrigation.
DSI also does service some clients who require surface systems, common in industries such as vineyards, and the store in Minden would be able to supply businesses who require such systems, while the majority of their work is done underground.
