El Agave Opens In Minden

A new Mexican Restaurant, El Agave, opened for business in Minden on August 12. The restaurant is located at the corner of Minden Avenue and Sixth Street in the space that previously held the Red River Restaurant and Lounge. Owner and manager Jose Aguirre has years of experience in the restaurant business, however El Agave is the first restaurant he has managed on his own.
“I enjoy doing business in Minden,” Aguirre stated. “The people here are very nice.”
Aguirre was dining in the Red River when he got the idea to try a restaurant in Minden. “I like this town and I approached the owner about whether he would be interested in selling the business.”
Operating a restaurant is something Aguirre’s family is no stranger to. His brother operates El Puerto in Hastings and his cousin has the El Puerto restaurant in McCook.
