FACES Rally Raises Over Six Thousand

The streets of Upland echoed with the rumble of engines as 132 riders rolled into town for the FACES motorcycle rally held Friday, Saturday and Sunday.
This was the ninth year for the FACES rally.
Although down in rider numbers from previous years, the rally raised more than $6000 to benefit the National Craniofacial Association, a non -profit organization serving children and adults throughout the United States with severe craniofacial deformities resulting from birth defects, injuries or disease.
FACES does not pay for corrective surgery, but the organization does provide financial assistance based on financial need.  The assistance includes transportation, lodging and food.
A local $500 donation will go directly to the Martin family of Smith Center, Kansas.  The Martins’ son, Reiss, was born with a craniofacial defect.  The family attended the rally in Upland.
A special award was presented by rally organizer John Eckhardt to Tammy Linner of Upland.
