Falcon Boys Fall to Eagles
The Wilcox-Hildreth boys were within striking dis- tance of Southern Valley until the fourth period at which time the Eagles pulled away to oust the Falcons from the D1-9 subdistrict winning 60-39 on February 20 in Bertrand. Wil-Hil’s season ends at 2-20 as does the career of lone senior Chase Bunger.
Southern Valley’s nine point first quarter lead had dwindled to just four by halftime, 28-24, as the Fal- cons put together a good second period.
The Eagles lead grew back to nine, 46-37, by the end of the third quarter. Ultimately, another Wil-Hil run was not in the offing as the Falcons could not score enough to stay close.
The team was 15 of 37 (40%) on FGs and 6 of 7 on FTs. They had 17 defensive and seven offensive re- bounds, seven assists, seven steals and 26 turnovers.
