Falcon Boys Win Second In A Row
The Wilcox-Hildreth boys notched their second win of the season defeating Lawrence-Nelson 54-37 in the opening day of the W-H holiday tournament. The Falcons upped their record to 2-5.
Lawrence-Nelson outscored W-H in both first half quarters, posting 11-9 and 13-7 advantages to go into the half leading 24-16.
The Falcons completely turned things around in the second half as they overwhelmed the Raiders with a 20-6 third quarter blitz to take a 36-30 lead heading into the fourth. Once again the Falcons dominated in the final period outpointing L-N 18-7 to post the 54-37 win.
Three Falcons hit double figures in scoring, led by Clay Blank’s 17. Blaine Groothuis and Clint Gardels each had 10. Stuart Fritz and Ben Harms contributed to the balanced scoring attack scoring 8 and 6 respectively. Gardels continued his double-double efforts this season, his fourth, as he added 11 rebounds.
