Wilcox-Hildtreth’s boys hung around into the fourth quarter but ultimately succumbed to Overton 45-57 at Wilcox on February 9. The Falcons fell to 6-13.
Overton outscored W-H in each of the first two quarters, 10-7 and 15-7, to lead at halftime 25-14.
The Falcons cut into the Eagles lead with a good third period advantage of 17-12. After three quarters, Overton was ahead just 37-31. The Eagles, however, outpointed W-H 20-14 in the fourth period to win by 12. The Falcons were 17 of 51 (33%) on FGs and 8 of 19 (42%) on FTs. They had 29 rebounds, seven assists, nine steals and 20 turnovers.
