Fire Causes $100,000 Damage Near Minden

The Minden Fire Department responded to a fire on May 13 at the Pallets & More business located on the grounds of Crossroads Welding. The fire department received a call and responded at 4:30 p.m. two miles east of Minden.
It took firefighters from Minden with mutual aid from Axtell, Wilcox, Hildreth and Holstein to battle the blaze. According to Minden Fire Chief Craig Space the fire started in burn barrels at the pallet recycling business and spread to the Fiberglass Company and it was stopped before it spread to the Crossroads Welding business. Space indicated that around 1,000 pallets were burned and caused approximately $100,000 in damage to the businesses.
