First Bank Loses In B-6 Tourney

The First Bank and Trust Company Senior American Legion baseball team wrapped up its 2010 season in the Class B-6 district tournament held in Holdrege.
The First Bank Seniors went 0-2 in district play losing to McCook and then Lexington. First Bank ends its season with a record of 10 wins and 11 losses.
First Bank opened up taking on McCook in the first round on Thursday afternoon. First Bank lost a heart-breaking 6-2 decision as McCook scored four runs in the bottom of the sixth to record the victory.
Senior pitcher Ryan Bergstrom took the loss for First Bank despite striking out nine and allowing only five hits in the ball game.
McCook got on the scoreboard first in the second inning following a single and then a home run to clear the bases, giving McCook a 2-0 lead.
First Bank responded scoring a run in the same inning as Max Anderson singled and scored to cut the deficit to 2-1. First Bank scored another single run in the fourth as Ethan DeLaet singled and scored on an RBI double from Anderson to tie the game at 2-2.
