First Bank Season Ends With 7-3 Loss To McCook, Finishes 7-14
Jordan Miller collected two hits and two RBI for First Bank in their season-ending loss to McCook on Monday, July 23 at the Class B-6 Senior District tournament held at Ollie Bjorklund Field.
Miller also struck out four in four innings of work off the mound, without allowing a single earned run in the effort and Mark Lundeen scored two runs in the 7-3 defeat.
McCook took the early lead after a single and an error put runners in scoring position and a ground out plated the game’s first run. McCook led 1-0 after the first.
McCook added to their lead in the second, scoring two runs without a single hit in the inning. With one out, Derek Kissinger hit a batter. One McCook batter reached on an error and Kissinger walked the next three batters to score two runs, leaving First Bank down 3-0.
First Bank got on the board in the top of the third. Miller reached on an error and Thomas Sinsel followed with a single. Miller was thrown out on the basepaths, but Sinsel came around to score on a throwing error, closing the gap to 3-1.
