The Kearney County First Bank Seniors dropped both ends of a doubleheader at York on June 23. First Bank stood at 1-9 following the setbacks. Both contests were shortened to five innings.
York won the opener 25-11. First Bank was the home team in this game as it was a continuation from one scheduled in Minden on June 13 that was called due to inclement weather after one inning. York led 3-0 after one and 13-0 after two and were up 19-0 going to the bottom of the third when First Bank was able to score one run. Jay Maska and Jake Kuehn had back-to-back singles and Maska eventually scored off of an error.
York added four in the top of the fourth but First Bank responded with seven in the bottom of the inning putting the score at 23-8. Thomas Miller had a double and Tysen McDowell, JC McDowell, Maska and Zach Hinrichs all had singles to account for much of the fourth-inning outburst.
