First Bank Seniors Earn Two Victories

The First Bank and Trust Company Senior American Legion baseball team ended its regular season on July 18 with a home game against Elwood.
First Bank won its final two games of the season, downing Thompson Creek in Hildreth and the season-ending home victory over Elwood at Ollie Bjorklund Field ending the season with a record of 10 wins and 9 losses.
First Bank was able to defeat Thompson Creek by a score of 11-7 behind starting pitcher Ryan Bergstrom on July 14.
The Seniors got on the board first in the opening two innings plating three runners. In the first, Bergstrom doubled and scored on a home run from Miles Steen to make it 2-0 First Bank.
In the second, Isaac Carlson singled and later scored on a ground out to make the score 3-0.
First Bank added another run in the third with Ethan DeLaet reaching after being hit by a pitch. Mark Lundeen scored DeLaet on an RBI single to make it 4-0.
