First Bank Seniors Post Two More Wins, Now 6-4

The First Bank Senior Legion team picked up a pair of victories this week downing Doniphan-Trumbull on June 21 and topping Cozad on Friday night in a road contest.
First Bank improved its overall season mark to 6-4 on the season with the two wins.
Against Doniphan-Trumbull, Miles Steen picked up the win as First Bank (5-4) blanked the visitors 12-0 in three innings. Steen earned the win going three innings, facing only 11 batters allowing no runs and recording four strikeouts.
First Bank jumped all over D-T in the first two innings putting up six quick runs. In the bottom of the first, the Seniors got started with walks to both Ethan DeLaet and Ryan Bergstrom who were brought home by a Mark Lundeen RBI single to open the scoring 2-0.
In the second, First Bank plated four more runs starting with Jake Myers and Chris Grams singling while Craig Driver’s single scored two. The inning continued with DeLaet and Bergstrom singling and by the time the dust settled, First Bank led 6-0.
In the third, First Bank continued to feast on D-T pitching adding six more runs to put the game on ice. Scoring in the third were Grams, Driver, DeLaet, Bergstrom, Steen and Sawyer Monroe.
Leading hitters in the victory were Driver going 2 for 3 with two RBIs followed by Grams going 2 for 3 with a double while Myers, Bergstrom and DeLaet all went 1 for 3.
The First Bank Seniors resumed play on Friday traveling to Cozad to face the Cozad Senior Legion team. First Bank earned a 14-4 win to improve its record to 6-4.
