First Bank Seniors Top Lexington, 12-7
The First Bank and Trust Company Seniors won its second straight home contest on June 30 when they played host to Lexington at Bjorklund Field.
Lexington led 2-0 after the top of the first inning only to have First Bank respond with two runs as Ryan Bergstrom and Miles Steen both scored.
Lexington took a 6-2 lead over First Bank after scoring two runs in both the third and fourth innings.
First Bank got the bats working in the bottom of the fourth to take the lead for good, scoring six runs. Max Anderson and Mark Lundeen started the rally with walks before Bergstrom had an RBI single to score them both. Craig Driver walked followed by Steen’s single which scored Bergstrom. Colby Emal continued to hit Lex pitching with another single to score Driver. Ethan DeLaet finished up the big inning with a key two-out double that scored Steen and Emal.
By the time the dust settled First Bank led 8-6. Lexington scored it final run in the both to get them within one run, 8-7.
First Bank closed the game out in the fifth and sixth innings. Lundeen reached on a walk and scored on an RBI double from Bergstrom, who scored on a single from Driver to make it 10-7.
The Seniors ended the game with two more in the fifth inning as Emal walked and DeLaet reached on an error. Both would cross home plate to bring the final margin to 12-7.
