The First Bank Senior Legion baseball team ended their 2011 regular season with two more victories.
The first win came on July 22 when they traveled to Alma to take on the Alma Seniors. First Bank picked up a 13-5 victory to move the Seniors to 10-8 on the season.
Ryan Bergstrom picked up the win for First Bank striking out eight. Sawyer Monroe picked up the save for the Seniors.
Alma bolted to an early lead getting to Bergstrom for two runs in the first inning. First Bank got its first run in the top of the second when Miles Steen scored to make it 2-1 in favor of Alma.
Alma made up the run in the bottom of the inning to increase its lead back to two runs, 3-1.
First Bank got its offense going in the top of the third producing four runs. Parker Ayres started the inning with a walk followed by Ethan DeLaet getting a single. What followed was consecutive doubles from Bergstrom and Steen as all four players crossed home to push First Bank into the lead 5-3.
Alma scratched home a pair of runs in its half of the third to tie the game at 5-5.
First Bank would regain the lead in the top of the fourth as Thomas Sinsel walked and later scored on a single from DeLaet to push the Seniors ahead 6-5.
The Seniors went to work on Alma in the top of the sixth inning plating six more runs. Max Anderson opened the inning with a double followed by a walk to Sinsel and then a double to Monroe. Craig Driver kept the inning alive with a walk followed by singles from DeLaet and Bergstrom. All six players scored as First Bank pulled ahead 12-5. First Bank added an insurance run in the eighth when Monroe walked and was brought home by a DeLaet double to make the final score 13-5.
