First Bank Wins Doubleheader Over Bermis, 14-0 And 7-5

The First Bank Senior Legion baseball team was back in action on July 8 hosting Bermis (Bertrand/Loomis) in doubleheader action at Ollie Bjorklund Field.
The Seniors swept Bermis in both contests picking up a 14-0 win in game one and closing out the sweep with a 7-5 decision. First Bank moved to 9-11 on the season.
The first game was all First Bank. Jonas Lovin toed the mound for the squad and threw his second no-hitter of the season picking up the win in five innings of work.
Lovin threw 72 pitches with 50 being strikes and allowed only walk while striking out 10 Bermis hitters.
The Seniors got the offense rolling in the bottom of the first when Jonas Lovin singled and stole second. Mitchell Muller followed with a singe and took second on a throw as Lovin scored. Brendon Sinsel was next and singled and scored Muller to make it 2-0. Sinsel would move around to third after a walk to Quin Rutt, who advanced to second.
